Подобно мнение споделят и учените от  Sandia National Laboratories , които работят по компютър, който функционира като човешки мозък и изразходва енергия, колкото за 20-ватова крушка. Учените от американската лаборатория черпят вдъхновения за своята работа от работата на невроните в мозъка ни, за да създадат своя проект и разработват алгоритми, които да се изпълняват на компютри по начин по-близък до човешкия мозък, отколкото по начина, по който ги представя конвенционален компютър.
